This free support is an aid to many challenges faced by all community-based and civic organizations mainly the ones we engaged. After conducting a survey in 12 parishes over a three years period, the foundation was able to identify the following common challenges.
[ 1 ] Effective Planning and Implementation of community impact/fundraising projects:
Many organizations work with the momentum of on the spot suggestions which sometimes work in their favor, however, more is needed.
[ 2 ] Effective Team Leadership:
The majority of local groups are of the notion that leadership skills come naturally which is true in an essence, however, there are principles, structures, and frameworks designed specifically to acquire and maintain this important role.
[ 3 ] Effective Business Networking:
Establishing and maintaining dignified relationships with the business environment requires an understanding of protocol and purpose. These are often overlooked by the anxiety and lack of knowledge.
[ 4 ] Roles and Responsibilities of Executive Members:
While many groups function based on a structure designed for a smooth operation, consistency is lacking as a result of no training or sensitization. Executives have gone and so have the knowledge, therefore, new recruits operate based on common sense.
*NB: There are well-organized groups that have vividly clear understanding and are doing well.
While these challenges may appear very simple, there are systematic strategies that are required to effectively establish solutions, and here at The Conrad Guthrie Foundation, our training program is carefully and specifically designed to address these challenges, irrespective of culture, resources, and people.
